Caring for Contact Lenses

Contact lens wearers must be sure to treat their contacts properly. Improper care can lead to ripped or torn lenses, or or even serious eye infections or scratches, which on occasion can lead to vision loss. Any individuals that are not capable of properly taking care of their contacts may want to opt for an alternative option for vision correction.

Don't worry, though... proper lens care is simpler than you may think. With all-in-one care systems and one-use lenses, caring for your lenses is less expensive, requires less time and requires less trouble than before. Still, there are some essential instructions to keep in mind.

First of all it is recommended to speak to your eye doctor to receive personalized recommendations. In addition, make sure you don't switch your care routine without asking your optometrist first. Certain products can react with each other or with specific lenses and can damage your eyes. Our experienced staff can help you determine the correct treatment for your contacts.

Proper lens maintenance necessitates cleaning and disinfecting your contacts once a day. It's important to do this immediately after you take out your lenses. Not only will clean contacts ensure that your eyes will be healthier, your contact lenses will feel more comfortable. Never press solution bottle tips to any area including your body as it can dirty the solution. Do your best to prevent getting tap water on your lenses, including rinsing your lens container, as it often transports a bacteria that can cause severe eye infections. Lastly, don't forget to dispose of your lenses after their intended use time to reduce the risk of infection.

Yes, there may be an assortment of products out there, but with a little knowledge you can be sure you are caring for your lenses properly, ensuring healthier eyes and clearer vision!
